June 14, 2022: Success stories in dire situations always serve as an example of inspiration. And this story of a bureaucrat from Gujarat takes the cake for today’s edition of motivational stories. Tushar Sumera, the Collector of Bharuch in Gujarat, has won the hearts of netizens after a photo of his class 10 marksheet was shared on Twitter.

Posted by IAS officer Awanish Sharan, the tweet had two pictures. One of them showed Sumera’s marksheet that listed the marks he scored for his board exams. 36 out of 100 in Mathematics and 35 in English! Can you even imagine? The other picture showed Sumera sitting proudly in his office.

 


“Bharuch Collector Tushar Sumera, while sharing his class 10th marksheet, wrote that he got only passing marks in class 10th. He got 35 marks in English, 36 in maths and 38 in science out of his 100. Not only in the whole village but in that school it was said that they cannot do anything,” read the caption.

The post has garnered over 17.4k likes and tons of reactions. In the current society, fuelled by the rat race of scoring high marks with the hope of getting into a good college has left the generation mentally exhausted. That’s why Sumera’s hopeful life story has tugged at the heartstrings of netizens.
