Udupi, Oct 16, 2011 :When former CM B. S. Yeddyurappa was arrested in Bangalore, BJP State President S. Eshwarappa stated in Udupi at he will come out of jail as not guilty. Stating that the BJP respects the court and obeys court orders because of which Yeddyurappa has surrendered to court, Eshwarappa said that Yeddyurappa is only “accused” and not “guilty.” He further assured that Yeddyurappa will be proven as innocent.
Eshwarappa addressed reporters in Udupi on Saturday evening besides supervising the preparations for the arrival of Advani’s anti-corruption Ratha Yatra to Udupi.
Responding to statements made by Congress leaders against Yeddyurappa, he reminded them that they are also living in glass houses and will have to be produced in court one day, after which it will be decided who is innocent and who is guilty.
Stating that the BJP has nothing to be embarrassed about since Advani’s Ratha Yatra is coinciding with Yeddyurappa’s arrest, he said that Advani’s aim is to clean the entire nation of corruption, not just one former minister of the BJP.
