Yeddyurappa is not a convict, just an accused – Pejawar Seer

Udupi, October 18, 2011 : Although he said that he welcomes the arrest of several political leaders alleged of involvement in corrupt activities throughout India, Pejawar Mutt Seer Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji said that Yeddyurappa is right now only “an accused” and “not a convict” and that we should wait for the final verdict of the court.

Pejawar1Regarding the arrests of political leaders, he said that it should serve as a “warning to corrupt politicians.”

 

In response to a question, the Swamiji said that Advani was not happy about the political developments in Karnatatka and had warned its leaders in the past. Voicing his opinion about Advani’s Yatra, he said that it is a protest against corruption and that there is nothing wrong in the yatra visiting Karnataka.

He also said that CM D. V. Sadananda Gowda has assured him that the government would not approve the second unit of UPCL till the expert committee submits its report.
