UP, Jul 16, 2026: A major controversy has erupted after Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya, Peethadheeshwar of Ayodhya’s prominent Tapasvi Chhawani, allegedly issued a death threat against Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, announcing a ₹5 crore reward for anyone who kills him.

In a video statement that has gone viral on social media, the seer claimed that the reward money would be given to the family of the person who carries out the act and that he would bear the legal expenses of the accused.

Amir Khan death threat

The controversial remarks came amid criticism surrounding Aamir Khan’s recent marriage to Bengaluru-based entrepreneur Gauri Spratt. The actor’s third marriage has drawn reactions from some right-wing groups and political leaders, including Maharashtra minister Nitesh Rane, who had accused him of promoting “love jihad”.

Supporting such allegations, Paramhans Acharya claimed that Aamir Khan had married three times and that all his spouses were Hindu women. Speaking to IANS, the seer alleged that the actor was “promoting love jihad” and accused him of targeting Hindu women.

“I am openly declaring that I will give a reward of ₹5 crore to anyone who kills Aamir Khan. The money will reach their family, and I will personally bear the entire cost of their legal battle,” the seer said in the video.

The statement has triggered widespread criticism, with many social media users condemning it as an alleged incitement to violence. Legal experts have also raised concerns over the nature of the remarks and called for action by law enforcement authorities.

The controversy comes after protests by some groups against Aamir Khan’s marriage. The escalation to an alleged public death threat has intensified calls for Uttar Pradesh Police and cybercrime authorities to initiate action against the seer.

Aamir Khan and his representatives have not yet issued any official response to the threat. Meanwhile, calls have grown on social media for a review of the actor’s security arrangements.
