Mangalore, Oct 7, 2013: The village assistants of revenue department staged a protest in front of DC Office on October 7, Monday urging the government to fulfill their demands.
Addressing the protestors, Prakash K, District President of the revenue department village assistants union said that although the village assistants are considered as the back bone of rural administration, but the Government is least bothered about their conditions.
He also said that the village assistants are deployed in various duties including the election duties. But they do not get any allowance for their duties.
Hence he urged the government to give the pay scale similar to that given to the Anganavadi workers and provide the medical facilities and the allowance to the additional duties they perform.
