Following this, Pumpwell’s followers pelted stones on many KSRTC buses and created tense situation. These acts created strife between communities and breached public peace. Consequently, the East police registered a case against Pumpwell under Sections 353 (2), 196 (1) (b), 49 and 324 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, police said.

The bandh call was given to protest the murder of Suhas Shetty at Bajpe on April 1.
