Udupi: Speeding car falls into drain; five youth escape with minor injuries

Udupi, December 6, 2025: Five youths narrowly escaped with minor injuries after their speeding car lost control and rolled into a roadside drain near the Ulluru playground in the Keduru Gram Panchayat limits late Thursday night.
According to sources, the youths from Markodu near Koteshwar were returning home after a party at a bar in Keduru when the accident occurred. The impact caused three roadside electric poles to collapse, and the car sustained severe damage.
Fortunately, the airbags deployed in time, preventing major injuries. A passerby vehicle helped rush one of the injured youths to a nearby hospital for first aid.
Overspeeding and driving under the influence of alcohol are suspected to be the causes of the accident.
