Police said that on October 11, 2024, around 7 pm, Malpe Police Sub-Inspector Praveen Kumar R. spotted seven men behaving suspiciously near the Vadabhandeshwara bus stop. When questioned, they failed to produce valid documents and were found carrying fake Aadhaar cards.

Interrogation revealed information about three more associates, leading to the detention of all 10 individuals. An FIR was registered at Malpe Police Station for illegal entry into the country.

After the Malpe Circle Inspector filed the chargesheet, the Udupi First Class Judicial Magistrate Court (JMFC) completed the trial and, on December 8, sentenced all ten accused to two years’ imprisonment and a fine.
