Two drown in river near Kabbinale in Hebri

Udupi, Oct 22, 2023: Two individuals who had gone for a swim in the river met with a tragic incident on the evening of the 21st at Mattavu near Kabinale in Hebri. The deceased have been identified as Umesh Shetty (48) and Prasthuth Hedge (21). Prasthuth Hedge was a final-year engineering student.

Both of them had gone for a swim, but even though it was evening, they didn’t return home. Concerned family members tried calling their mobile phones but received no response. Since they didn’t answer the calls, the family attempted to trace their location through their mobile phones. Tragically, around 10:30 PM, they discovered the lifeless bodies of both individuals.

In this regard, a case has been registered at the Hebri Police Station.
