The exhibition is being organised by Mangalore Travel Mart (MTM). MTM is a showcase to stimulate travel, tourism, leisure, hospitality, and other industries at home and abroad. Providing a common platform for entrepreneurs, organizations, private and government association, those associated with travel, tour, aviation, tourism, transportation, hospitality, and other fields to meet, interact, and exchange solutions for the development of the travel, leisure, and hospitality industry. MTM enables everybody associated with the industry to exchange business ideas, generate and renew business contacts, find potential partners, launch publicity drives, products, and services, network, and attract customers. MTM aims to boost tourism in Mangalore.


In his speech, Sanjay Shreevats, regional director, India Tourism said that the travel exhibition is a best place for everyone to share their business ideas. The exhibition helps especially businessman to enhance and revive their business contacts. Earlier Kerala Travel Mart was promoting tourism in India but now Mangalore Travel Mart has taken a bold step to promote tourism in coastal region and this is a positive move, he said.


Inspector General of Police, Western Range, Alok Mohan lit the traditional lamp and inaugurated the programme. Speaking on the occasion, IGP Alok Mohan said that one of the tourists spots Mangalore nurtures various religions and diverse culture. Tourism in Mangalore is an important contributor to the overall economy of the region, which is predominantly dependent on many large industries and port related occupations. In future, Mangalore will succeed to become one of the major tourists centre in India. The beaches and the temples, mosques, churches, monuments top the list of tourist attractions in Mangalore, he added.

 
Yogish Bhat, MLA, Mangalore South Constituency, Government of India’s Regional Director for tourism in Chennai, Sanjay Shreevats, Lakshmi Kumaran (DGM, CC & CSR, MRPL, Mangalore), Roshan Pinto (President, Mangalore Associtation of Travel Market), Louis J. Pinto (President, Mandd Sobhann) and Shree Devi Education Trust chairman A Sadananda Shetty were also present on the occasion.
