Thunderstorm in DK, 2 dead, damage to property

Mangaluru, May 04, 2017: Late reports project 2 persons including a 15 year old boy died following thunderstorms and summer showers in the last two days in DK.  A hotel owner, Sundara Poojary (48) near Bajpe died as a banyan tree fell on his hotel whereas Lavalesha (15), a Moodbidri resident died as a result of heavy lightening.

Also, a number of electric poles, trees fell down, private, public properties, roads damaged properties in various parts of Dakshina Kannada district. Power was also shut down in many areas.  A slight respite from heat is felt.
