Threat case : Cops gather information from actress Anushka Shetty’s brother

Mangaluru, June 30, 2022: The City Police on June 30, Thursday questioned Gunaranjan Shetty, a close aide of  former underworld don late Muttappa Rai in connection with the allegation that there was a plot to eliminate him. Gunaranjan happens to be the brother of actress Anushka Shetty.

 

City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar and CCB Inspector Mahesh Prasad questioned him to gather information regarding the alleged threat to Gunaranjan. Jaya Karnataka organisation workers had even sought protection for Gunaranjan stating he faced threat from Manvit Rai who too is a former aide of Muttappa Rai. Both Gunaranjan and Manvith fell apart after Muttappa Rai’s death.

City Police Commissioner said Shetty did not reveal who was threatening him but said he was facing threat.

Shashi Kumar said the police would continue investigation into the case.

Gunaranjan who too spoke later said he cannot say for sure as to who was behind the threat and that he has passed on whatever information he had.
