Sullia, Jan 2, 2013: Sullia police have arrested Vasanth Sheregar(47) the accused in the recent double murder case that rocked Sullia. The murder had taken place at Naraje in Jayanagar on the night of December 29, Saturday.
The accused is learnt to have confessed his guilt. He had killed Padmavathi (38) wife of Harish Naika of Naraje and Hithesh (30), a tractor driver of Kushalnagar, while the two were found in a compromising position in a hill near Padmavathi’s house on Saturday night.
It has been reliably learnt that Padmavathi and the accused Vasanth had an extra marital affairs since two years. But on Saturday night, it is learnt, Padmavathi turned down Vasanth’s request and went along with Hithesh, resulting in the killing of two. She, it is learnt, had also abused Vasanth.
Vasanth also admitted that he had discarded the pick-axe used for the murder in the cattle shed and then escaped from the place after changing his clothes. After the arrest, he showed to the police the place where he had dumped the pick-axe.
The accused Vasanth Sheregara hails from Adoor and resided in Kantamangala with his wife and had a 20 year old son. He, it is learnt also had an affair with another woman of Adoor and had a girl child from her. It is also said that his affair with Padmavathi was going on since two years and he was also providing her half of his earnings.
