Sullia: Cave resembling sculpted tunnel discovered at Kalmakaru

Sullia, 12 March, 2024: During earth excavation in Kalmakaru taluk, a cave-like tunnel has been unearthed. Situated on a rubber farm belonging to Bilimale Umesh, the discovery occurred while he was preparing the land for forest cultivation.
The tunnel was brought to light after the removal of overgrown bushes concealing it.
Resembling a sizable bathing vessel from above and stretching six feet deep, the tunnel’s structure appears deliberate. Speculation arises that it might have functioned as a hiding spot in ancient eras.
