Sullia: 52-year-old woman passes PUC exam, proves age is no barrier to education

Sullia, July 19, 2025: Jayanti, a 52-year-old woman from Atlur in Ajjavara village, Sullia, has defied age-related expectations by successfully passing the second PUC examination in the Arts stream. She is the wife of retired teacher Achyutha Atlur and a former member of the Ajjavara Gram Panchayat.

Jayanti secured a total of 307 marks, with subject-wise scores of 57 in Kannada, 50 in English, 55 in History, 51 in Economics, 50 in Political Science, and 49 in Sociology.

Her academic journey was supported by teachers from Sharada Vidyalaya in Sullia and Pragathi Educational Institution in Puttur, who guided and mentored her through her preparations.
