Subrahmanya: June 09, 2025: A youth has drowned in the river at Gundya on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased is Chethan Shetty ( 21), son of Jayananda Shetty of Ichlampady village. Chethan who worked as a medical representative in Mangaluru, had played cricket with a group of youth at Ichlampady on Sunday and had later stepped in the river at Gundya for a bath.

 It is learnt, he was unaware of the depth of the river and drowned. Locals later brought the body to the river banks.

Kadaba police have registered a case.
