Shri Vishwavallabha Teertha Swamiji warmly welcomed in Udupi

Udupi, Jan 3, 2012 : The pura pravesha of Shri Vishwavallabha Teertha Swami of Shree Sode Mutt, who is to ascend the paryaya peeta on Jan 18 Wednesday, was grandly received on Jan 2 Monday.

A large number of devotees welcomed the swamiji, who was taken in a procession that commenced at Jodukatte at 5:00 p.m. The swamiji was seated in a decorated palanquin, bearing the mutt’s presiding deity in his arms.

The procession passed the taluk office, Diana Circle, Kolada Pete, and Thenku Pete, before ending at Car Street. A women’s chende team from Udupi, a men’s chende team from Kerala, a markal kunitha, dollu kunitha, band sets, performers, colorful umbrellas, giant dancing dolls, bhajan teams, and others formed part of the procession. Vehicles carrying portraits of deities followed this procession while groups of students uttered the Veda Ghosha.

 

 

 

 

 

 

At Car Street, Shri Vishwavallabha Teertha Swamiji received a darshan of Shri Krishna through the Kanakana Kindi. He also visited the temples of Shri Chandramouleshwara, Shri Krishna, and Shri Anantheshwara and offered prayers. Shri Laxmivara Teertha Swamiji of Shree Shiroor Mutt received him at the entrance of the Shree Krishna Mutt.

Shri Vishwavallabha Teertha then arrived at the entrance of the Shree Sode Mutt and offered Navagraha Daana to the diwans of all the mutts and offered prayers before entering the Shri Sode Mutt. The official website of Shree Sode Mutt, www.sodevadirajamutt.in was also launched.

The CMC of Udupi then felicitated the swamiji at a public event from 8:15 p.m. in the presence of MLA Raghupathi Bhat, CMC President Kiran Kumar, and Municipal Commissioner Gokuldas Nayak.
