Mangalore, Oct 7, 2013: A Mandir dedicated to Shirdi Sai Baba will be inaugurated at the Sri Gokarnanatha Temple at Kudroli on October 11, Friday at 5.30 pm. A five feet and 7.5 inches tall statue of Sai Baba would be installed at the Mandir on October 11, Thursday.
Informing this to reporters here on October 7, Monday, former union minister B Janardhan Poojari said the Mandir will be inaugurated by a widow. He also informed that the statue is sculpted in white marble and that his son Santosh Kumar Poojari who is an international director in a foreign company had borne the entire cost of the construction of the Mandir.
On the two widows who were appointed priests of the temple, Poojari said Lakshmi Shanthi was 67 years old and had lost her husband 20 years ago. She has two sons and three daughters, Poojari informed. The other priest Indira Shanthi’s husband had passed away five years ago and she is the mother of two sons and a daughter, Poojari said.
He also informed that Lokesh Shanthi, a Gurumandir priest from B C Road had trained the two as per the request of the Temple management.
HS Sairam, Temple Development Committee President, Raghavendra Kuloor, Harikrishna Bantwal, Padmaraj and others were present at the press meet.
