Speaking about the natural resources available in India, he said that the country is rich in solar energy and bio fuels obtained through waste, but people ignore all these resources. He informed his audience that a similar workshop was held in Bangalore in July and that it obtained an excellent response. He spoke on the necessity of developing the bio fuel sector both as a business and research sector.

MLA N. Yogesh Bhat, who was the chief guest of the event, said that Indian scientists must conduct a lot of study on the conversion of waste into fuel. India will never remain poor if this research becomes successful and if the technology of using waste and other natural resources to obtain bio fuel and other energy is implemented, he added.

Y. B. Ramakrishna, the chairman of Task Force on Bio Fuels, Government of Karnataka, Bangalore, delivered the keynote address, in which he spoke of the number of technologies available for the conversion of waste into bio fuel. Urging people not to use exhaustible resources, he spoke of the benefits of inexhaustible sources of energy. Expressing concern over imbalance in nature, which has disrupted the seasons, and people’s dependence on corporate bodies, he said that the only solution to the problem is tapping natural resources.

Delivering the presidential address B. Nagaraj Shetty, the chairman of the Karnataka Coastal Development Authority, Mangalore, said that if Indian scientists work for the development of the country’s bio fuel industry, the country will become self-sufficient and will no longer require the resources of other countries.
