Mangaluru, May 23, 2024: Rohan Monteiro, Founder and Chairman of Rohan Corporation was conferred the Guest of Honour Award by the Mangaluru Press Club, on Thursday, May 23, 2024.


After receiving the award, Rohan spoke about the immense potential of Mangaluru city which is endowed with abundant natural resources and is better connected through rail, road, air and water. He also expressed his desire to see Mangaluru develop on the lines of Dubai. "Mangalore is a Heaven" said Mr. Rohan.

He said he can never forget the patronage extended to him by the people of Mangaluru and added that this has contributed to the growth of his business.

Rohan Monteiro also recalled his humble beginnings in the real estate sector and also how he had dropped out of school after ninth standard and later assisted his father in farming and then dabbled in various fields including working in a canteen, as an auto electrician, as a sales person in a bakery and eventually making a beginning in the real estate industry. 


Rohan shared his arduous journey; "I have faced numerous challenges, working various odd jobs such as in canteens, as an auto electrician, in air conditioning and exchange businesses, catering, lorry loading, masonry, laundry services, and bakery operations. Eight years in sales at Vas Bakery further contributed to my journey. These struggles have shaped me into a self-made individual, instilling in me confidence and resilience." “Failure is the stepping stone to success.  Don’t be afraid of the obstrucles, work towards your goals and success will come your way."

Rohan Corporation India has completed more than 40 real estate projects in the last 32 years. They have built more than 3000 houses. About 72 agencies are working on one of our projects, providing employment to thousands of people. In the future, projects worth about Rs. 8000 crore will be launched soon; in Padil, Alape, Attavar, Yeyyadi, and Surathkal. We also have plans to expand the real estate business to Mysore, Bangalore, and Goa,’ Rohan Monteiro said."

The programme was earlier inaugurated by Jaideep Shenoy, Corporate Communications Officer of Mangaluru International Airport. Press Club President P B Harish Rai presided over the function.

District Working Journalists’ Association President Srinivas Nayak Indaje, Patrika Bhavan Trust President Ramakrishna R and others were present.
