Mangalore, Jan 26, 2014: State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader has informed that Peritoneal Dialysis Centres will be opened at the Wenlock Hospital in Mangalore and KC General Hospital in Bangalore on a pilot basis in order to facilitate people suffering from renal failure.
Addressing press persons at Circuit House on January 25, Saturday, he said 20 patients, each having BPL cards will be entitled for treatment at the two centres. Based on the result, the facility will be extended to other places, he added.

The Minister informed that six new centres would be opened to provide physiotherapy facilities, self employment and skill development training for Endosulfan affected people. Arrangements have been made to offer good treatment at full-fledged hospitals in Mangalore ad Sullia for those Endosulfan affected people who need higher treatment. Scanning facility for pregnant women hailing from Endosulfan affected villages has been made at KS Hegde Hospital,he said.
Referring to the Yettinahole project, he said it was approved during the chief ministership of DV Sadananda Gowda and added it has been approved in the assembly too.
