Udupi, Dec 7, 2025: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan offered prayers at the Sri Krishna Matha here and participated in the Bruhat Geetotsava organised by Paryaya Sri Puthige Sri Krishna Matha on Sunday.
In a social media post, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said he felt humbled to visit Udupi, which he described as a spiritual centre of Bharat, and noted the enduring presence of Lord Krishna and the legacy of Jagadguru Sri Madhvacharya.

Speaking at the Bruhat Geetotsava programme, Pawan Kalyan said he joined devotees in celebrating the timeless message of the Bhagavad Gita, calling it the soul of Indian civilisation. He also lauded the spiritual initiatives being undertaken under the guidance of Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji, including the one-crore handwritten Bhagavad Gita project and the Laksha Kanta Parayana, which he said were inspiring people across the world.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan said the notion that the English language could destroy Indian society was incorrect, pointing out that India had overthrown colonial rule. He added that attempts to forcibly impose foreign culture would never succeed.
He said cow protection was an integral part of Indian culture and called for the establishment of goshalas in rural areas with government support. He urged people to fulfil their own responsibilities before blaming other communities.
Describing India as a nation of youth, he said thinkers such as Madhvacharya had provided intellectual and spiritual strength. He said the Bhagavad Gita was not merely a religious text but a guide to ethical living, and that the strength of Sanatana Dharma lay in the Vedas and the eternal wisdom of the Gita.
He said he agreed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s view that the Gita offered guidance even for national security, and described it as a universal text that shaped human values and guided daily decision-making. He urged the youth to draw emotional strength and discipline from the Gita.
He said Udupi was among the country’s major spiritual centres and said its glory had grown through Madhvacharya’s Dvaita philosophy. He praised the work of Sri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji for promoting Hindu Dharma beyond India.
Puttige Mutt head Sri Sugunendra Tirtha, Sri Vidyaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji of Subrahmanya Mutt, Sri Subhaga Swami Guru Maharaj of Mayapur, and junior seer of Puttige Mutt Sri Sushindra Tirtha Swamiji delivered benedictions.
Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna, TTD Board members B. Ananda Sai and Naresh Kumar, and industrialists Raghavendra Rao and Murali Ballal were present.
