Mangaluru, May 18, 2025: A passenger aboard the 12602 Mangaluru–Chennai Mail tragically lost his life to a heart attack on Saturday afternoon, despite the prompt and valiant efforts of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Mangaluru Junction.
The incident unfolded around 1:35 pm in the general coach of the train. Acting swiftly upon receiving an alert, RPF Inspector Manoj Kumar Yadav and his team evacuated the ailing passenger from the coach. They administered CPR and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation in a desperate bid to revive him. The passenger was immediately rushed to Government Wenlock Hospital for advanced medical care.
Despite their efforts, the passenger was pronounced dead at the hospital at approximately 4 pm. “We did everything we could to save the passenger. Every passenger is important to us,” RPF officials stated. The deceased’s identity has not yet been disclosed, and authorities are working to complete the necessary formalities.
The quick response and dedication of the RPF staff have drawn widespread praise from passengers and railway officials, highlighting the commitment of the team in such critical situations.
