Noida man arrested for false promise of medical seat; cheating of Rs 22.5 lakhs

Mangaluru, Apr 03, 2023: Ullal police have arrested a man from Noida on the charges of cheating after promising medical seat at Kanachur Medical College.
The accused has been identified as Iftikar Ahmed. Police have brought him from Mumbai to Mangaluru after securing body warrant.
A man named Shashikanth Dikshith from Bidar had lodged a complaint at Ullal police station alleging that Iftikar and others had taken Rs 22.5 lakhs from him with a promise of medical seat but had cheated.
An FIR was registered on March 5. Around the same time, police in Mumbai had arrested the accused in a similar case in Mumbai.
Police said investigations revealed that Iftikar had cheated many medical seat aspirants.
