Lokayukta raids on 5 govt officers unearths Rs 24 cr in illegal assets

Bengaluru, July 30, 2025: The Lokayukta police on Tuesday raided five government officials in different parts of the state and unearthed "illegal" assets worth Rs 24 crore.


The raids — targeting the government officers in Bengaluru, Chitradurga, Hassan and Chikkaballapur — followed cases of disproportionate assets.

The Lokayukta police searched five places linked with K Omprakash, Senior Assistant Director (Horticulture), Bangalore Development He was found to possess two sites and two houses, together valued at Rs 4.78 crore. His total assets were Rs 6.26 crore, disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The Lokayukta officers were shocked to discover that Jayanna R, Executive Engineer, National Highway, Hassan Division, owned 17 sites, eight houses and 1.36 acres of agricultural land. His total assets were valued at Rs 6.28 crore.

The others raided were N Venkatesh, Tax Accessor, Shettyhalli Sub-Division, BBMP, Bengaluru (Rs 2.57 crore DA); Dr Venkatesh G, Taluk Health Officer, Hiriyur Taluk, Chitradurga (Rs 3.54 crore DA); and Anjaneya Murthy M, Junior Engineer, Rural Drinking Water and Sanitisation Department, Gauribidanur, Chikkaballapur (Rs 5.77 crore DA).
