Mangalore, Jan 20, 2012 : Sancon 2010 – Critical Thinking, a Challenge for Nurses, a 2-day national-level conference for nurses, organized by St. Ann’s College of Nursing, was inaugurated at Shanthikiran Hall in Bajjodi from Jan 20 Friday.

Dr. M. V. Shetty College of Nursing Principal B. V. Kathyayini was the guest of honor. In her address, she spoke of the importance of critical thinking in the nursing profession. Pointing out the need of the hour to question oneself, she said that this is possible only at workshops and conferences. Stating that critical thinking is inseparable from the nursing profession, she said that a nurse who fails to think does not do justice to her profession.

Trained Nurses Association of India President Sr. Gilbert, who is also the principal of San Joe College of Nursing in Kerala, was the chief guest. St. Ann’s Group Chairman Eric C. Lobo presided.

Prof. Sr. Jacinta D’Souza, the organizing chairperson; Sudha Maheshwari, the organizing secretary; Principal Maria Pinto; and many others were also present.
