National Gymnasium to conduct bench press and Power lifting competition

Mangalore, Jan 16, 2014: National Gymnasium, Kulur will conduct the state-level bench press and Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district Power lifting competition on Jan 18 and Jan 19.

Speaking at the press club on Jan 16, Thursday, Chethan Kulur, president of National Gymnasium, Kulur said that the Gymnasium has given fame and respect to many athletes in the district in the power-lifting category.

He also said that so far the sportspersons have been awarded the prestigious ‘Arjuna’ and ‘Ekalavya’ awards. This competition provides a platform for budding sportspersons ofr the district.

The winners in the bench press competition from the state will be qualified to the National level competition to be held in Jammu & Kashmir in February.

Sathish Kumar Kudroli, Tulsidas Kulur, Kamalaksha, Haneef Kulur, V.Krishnamoorthy Rao were present.
