NYF participants enjoy water sports at Jeppinamogaru

Mangalore, Jan 15, 2012: The young people participating in the 17the edition of the National Youth Festival (NYF) enjoyed the water sports arranged for them at Jeppinamogaru.
The most popular sports appeared to be the jet skis and the banana rides. Those young people who were used to water sports advised their scared friends that they will not come to any harm if they wear life jackets.
Manjunath, the program coordinator, said that a number of young people had shown interest in participating in the water sports.
More than 600 people had already tried the sports, with many more expected to participate during the next two days. When asked why kayaking was not popular, he said that it requires a lot of energy and is not recommended on a sunny day. He said that kayaking might be launched in the evening.
A number of local people also arrived at the scene, but had to leave disappointed when they were told that the sports were meant only for NYF participants till Jan 16.
