Mangalore, Jan 10, 2012: Following the hoisting of the Pakistani flag on the premises of government buildings in Sindhagi, Bijapur, the Muslim Central Committee has urged the chief minister of Karnataka to maintain peace in Karnataka. 


Addressing reporters at a press conference held in Mangalore today, K. S. Masood Ahmed, the president of the Muslim Central Committee, stated that certain communal organizations are trying to create communal tension in Karnataka, adding that it is time to question the patriotism professed by the Sangh Parivar. He warned that the Sangh Parivar will create great communal problems in future if they are not checked immediately.

Citing examples of attacks on minority places of worship and the incident in which a group was prevented from offering Friday prayers at a mosque in Kodavoor, he said that these activities should stop, adding that it would be difficult for peace to prevail in the region if they are allowed to continue.


Kodijal Ibrahim, B. M. Mumthaz Ali, Ashraf, D. M. Aslam, and Hameed Kandak, were also present at the press conference.
