Murder accused youth brutally bludgeoned to death at Suratkal

Mangalore, Feb 4, 2014: A youth  who is an accused in a murder  case reported two years ago, was brutally hacked to death by a gang of assailants near the NITK at Suratkal on February 4, Tuesday afternoon.  Sources said the assailants dumped the body on the roadside before fleeing.

 

The deceased has been identified as Prakash. He was an accused in the case of murder of Shivaraj of Kodikere and was arrested along with others a week after the murder two years ago. Sources said Prakash who  was released on bail later on, had deserted Kulai where he used to stay earlier and had settled in his hometown at Kerala.

It is learnt, Prakash was killed after he had attended a  hearing in the court on Tuesday in the Shivaraj murder case. What has been gathered is that  soon after the court proceedings, some people had taken Prakash along with them in a Maruti Omni vehicle. The suspicion is that the same persons might be the killers.

The body has been shifted to  the Wenlock Hospital. Suratkal police have registered a case and are carrying out the investigations.
