Mangalore, Feb 29, 2012 : Three police officers at Kadri Police Station have been suspended following allegations from the owner of Moon Shine, a beauty parlor and spa, that the Kadri police had conducted a raid on them just to harass them for refusal to pay hafta.

Inspector Kiran Kumar, a constable, and a head constable have been suspended as per the orders of Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh.

On Feb 13, the Kadri police conducted a raid on Moon Shine Beauty Parlor and Spa, and a couple of weeks later, Sathish Rai, the owner of the beauty parlor, called a press meet, during which he produced CCTV footage of the police purposely planting condoms in one of the drawers of the parlor and then raiding the parlor just because he had refused to pay them a hafta of Rs. 50,000.
