Moodbidri: 13-year-old boy dies after being hit by speeding car

Moodbidri, Jan 2, 2026: A 13-year-old boy lost his life after being hit by a car allegedly due to the driver’s negligence near Maruru Hosangady on Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Zahir (13), son of Nazir and a resident of Hosangady. He was a Class 7 student at a local school.
According to the police, the incident occurred when Zahir was walking along the roadside with his mother to a nearby shop. A car coming from the opposite direction allegedly hit him, causing serious injuries. He was rushed to a hospital immediately but succumbed to his injuries despite treatment.
A case has been registered at the Moodbidri police station, and further investigation is underway.
