Mangalore, Dec 2, 2011: According to the testimony of C. M. Thimma Shetty, the sub inspector of police, one of the witnesses at the fast track court hearing the case of Cyanide Mohan, when Mohan Kumar was interrogated on Dec 8, 2005, he had confessed that he had fooled women into marrying him just for their gold ornaments. 


Mr. Shetty further said that Mohan Kumar was caught red handed with an unmarried woman by the local people, but he had introduced himself as Bhaskar from Vittal and the woman had introduced Mohan as a friend of her brother. Under interrogation, he confessed that he had lured the women for gold, he added.

Disclosing two more crimes committed by Mohan Kumar, Mr. Shetty testified that Mohan Kumar confessed during interrogation that he had lured another woman in Beltangady and had then tried to push her into River Nethravathi after taking her gold ornaments. He had also confessed to robbing a woman in Mangalore of her gold ornaments after first making her unconscious, he testified.

During cross examination, the accused sought to know whether the complainant mentions details of the gold ornaments Leelavathi took with her before leaving home. Thimma Shetty replied that the complainant did not mention these details.
