Udupi, Oct 19, 2013: In a rare incident, some unidentified miscreants set fire to a car belonging to BJP leader, parked front of his house near Hoode in Kemmannu on October 19, Saturday.

The Maruti Ritz car belongs to Harshavardhana, president of BJP Udupi Standing Committee. He is also an active RSS and VHP member.


The incident occurred at night around 12.10 am. Harshavardhana rushed to the place after the car siren turned on as it was burning. He also saw three people trying to escape from the scene.


According to the police, around four or five persons are involved in the activities.


Malpe police arrived at the spot and investigations are on.
