Mangaluru, Aug 1, 2025: A 22-year-old woman from Odisha has gone missing after escaping from a shelter home in Mangaluru. Police have issued a lookout notice and sought public assistance to trace her.
The missing woman, identified as Trisha from Utkal village in Odisha’s Kalahandi district, was earlier found wandering in the Kankanady police station limits. She was admitted to the Prajna Swadhara Centre in Mudipu by Kankanady police on July 18, 2024.
According to reports, on July 30, 2025, at around 7:44 pm, Trisha allegedly forced open the rear kitchen door of the shelter home and escaped by jumping over the compound wall. She has been untraceable since then.
Trisha is the daughter of Akash and Manani. She is about 4 feet tall, dark-complexioned, and of sturdy build, with black hair. She has studied up to Class 5 and can speak Hindi and Odia. At the time of her escape, she was wearing a white chudidar top and blue leggings.
Following a complaint filed by the shelter home superintendent, a missing person case has been registered at Konaje police station (Crime No. 89/2025).
