Mangaluru: Retired bank employee ends life in branch where he worked

Mangaluru, June 26, 2025: In a shocking incident, a retired bank employee has ended his life by hanging himself in the bank where he was working. The incident took place at the Kodialbail branch of Canara bank.

The deceased has been identified as Giridhar Yadav (61), a resident of Kudroli. He had served the Kodialbail branch of Canara Bank for over 40 years and had retired recently. Still out of love for the bank he used to visit the bank often.

 

 

On Wednesday too he had visited the bank. But, as he did not return home, his wife had lodged a missing complaint at Bunder police station.

On Thursday morning when the bank was opened as usual, Giridhar was found hanging in the store room of the bank.

Though the exact cause of the suicide, it is learnt that he was suffering from health problems.

He was a state level power lifter and had won many medals.

Investigations are underway.
