Mangaluru: Police Martyrs’ Day observed on Oct 21

Mangaluru, Oct 21, 2023: Police Martyrs’ Day was observed at the District Reserve Police Force office grounds in the city on October 21, Saturday under the aegis of the City Police Commissionerate, Dakshina Kannada Police and KSRP 7th Battalion, Mangaluru.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

District and Sessions Judge Ravindra M Joshi and Western Range IGP Dr Chandragupta were the chief guests. The chief guests and other police officials offered tributes to the Police Martyrs’ Memorial. A gun salute was also offered by firing three rounds in the air. A two minute silence was also observed.

City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal explained the importance of the day and said a total of 189 police personnel have been martyred in the nation between September 1, 2022 and August 31, 2023. He said 16 police personnel were martyred during duty during the period.
