Mangaluru: Newly elected Speaker U T Khader gets rousing welcome

Mangaluru, May 25, 2023: U T Khader, the newly elected Speaker of Karnataka Assembly received a rousing welcome at the Circuit House on May 25, Thursday on the occasion of his first visit to the city after taking charge as Speaker.

Speaking to media persons, Khader thanked Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, AICC Chief Mallikarjun Kharge and other party leaders for considering him for this coveted post.

Khader assured to work for the overall development of his constituency and also discharge his duties as a Speaker efficiently by taking everyone into confidence.

On the disappointment expressed by some of his supporters who were expecting a minister’s post for him, Khader said even as a Speaker, he will continue to discharge his duties as a legislator and fulfill the aspirations of people of his constituency.
