Mangaluru: Landslide near Circuit house following heavy rain

Mangaluru, July 17, 2025: Heavy rains that lashed various parts of Dakshina Kannada district disrupted normal life in several areas of Mangaluru city. A landslide occurred near Circuit House-Bijai late Tuesday night, spilling debris onto the road and affecting vehicular movement.
Both urban and rural areas of the district received intense rainfall. The downpour, which intensified on Wednesday night, continues to persist. Some houses have also been damaged in different locations.
Deputy Commissioner Darshan H.V. visited several rain-affected areas on Wednesday night, including Bijai Battagudda, Arya Samaj Road, Pumpwell, Malemar, Kavoor Ullas Nagar, Kottara Chowki, and others, to assess the situation.
