Mangaluru, Oct 10, 2025: Mohammad Sinan (24), a resident of Kudroli, who had been absconding for over two years in connection with a 2021 attempted murder case, has been arrested following his extradition from Qatar.
Sinan, son of Mohammad Salim and residing at Yasin Compound, Kudroli, was wanted in a case registered at Urwa police station (Crime No. 07/2021) under multiple IPC sections, including 307 (attempt to murder). The Sessions Court had earlier issued a non-bailable warrant after he repeatedly failed to appear before the court.
A Lookout Circular (LOC) was subsequently issued by the Bureau of Immigration, New Delhi, to trace his movements. On October 8, Sinan arrived at Mangaluru International Airport from Qatar, where immigration officials detained him and handed him over to Urwa police.
He was produced before the Mangaluru Sessions Court the same evening and remanded to judicial custody.
Police have also registered a fresh case (No. 100/2025 under Section 269 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) for violating court orders and skipping bail conditions.
According to police, Sinan had deliberately evaded trial while abroad, and coordinated efforts between agencies led to his capture upon return.
