Mangaluru, June 3, 2025: A short circuit incident at the Union Bank branch on Carstreet caused a brief fire scare on Tuesday afternoon.

Thick smoke was noticed in the help desk section on the first floor of the bank, prompting an immediate response from the Pandeshwar fire brigade.

Due to the room being air-conditioned and sealed, there was no proper outlet for the smoke to escape. Fire personnel used fans to help ventilate the area and clear the smoke.

The incident resulted in damage to several electronic devices, including computers. However, no injuries were reported. Fire officials brought the situation under control swiftly and ensured public safety.
