Mangaluru, Dec. 6, 2025: In a major verdict under the NDPS Act, the Mangaluru District Sessions Court has sentenced five individuals to rigorous imprisonment ranging from 12 to 14 years for attempting to sell MDMA to students in the city.

The convicted individuals are:Luwal Daniel Justin Boulo alias Danny, from Gunturu Palya, Varthur (Bengaluru); Muhammad Rameez alias Muhammad Meez, from Uppala; Sabitha alias Chinchu, from Madivala, Bengaluru; Moideen from Kunnil, Kasaragod and Abdul Raouf, from Uppala.
As per the judgment, Danny was sentenced to 12 years and 6 months of rigorous imprisonment and fined ₹1,35,000 under Sections 21, 21(c), and 27(b) of the NDPS Act. Rameez received the highest sentence of 14 years and 6 months along with a fine of ₹1,55,000. Moideen Rasheed was awarded 12 years and 6 months and fined ₹1,35,000. Abdul Raouf was sentenced to 13 years and 6 months and fined ₹1,45,000. Sabitha alias Chinchu was sentenced to 12 years and 6 months with a fine of ₹1,35,000.
The case dates back to June 6, 2022, when the Mangaluru CCB Police Inspector and his team raided a location and arrested the five accused while they were allegedly attempting to sell MDMA to students. The police seized 125 grams of MDMA during the operation. A case was subsequently registered at the Central Police Station, and a chargesheet was later filed after completion of the investigation.
After hearing arguments from both prosecution and defence, the Principal District and Sessions Judge (PDJ) found all the accused guilty. Public Prosecutor Judith represented the government before the Mangaluru NDPS Special Court.
