Mangalore: State level Karate championship inaugurated

Mangalore, Dec 30,2012: Deputy Speaker Yogish Bhat inaugurated the  23rd State Level two-day Inter DOJO Karate Championship-2012 held at Koragappa Memorial Hall of Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, Kudroli on December 29, Saturday.

In his address, Yogish Bhat, said Karate an art of self-defence  must be learnt by all children, as it not only helps them in times of danger but also inculcates in them a sense of discipline.

 

MLA and former minister Krishna Palemar, hoisted the flag and declared open the Kata competition. In his address, he said Karate classes must be mandatorily conducted in all schools.

Outstanding Karatekars were honoured. Over 800 students took part in the competitions.

U Rajarathna Sanil, Jyothika Jain, D Ramakrishna Rao,  KA Nayak, Ganesh K and others were present.
