Mangalore : Several BJP, JD(S) men defect to Congress

Mangalore, April 15, 2013: Several BJP and JD(S) workers including former BJP corporator from Attavar Bhasker Rao joined the Congress in the presence of Mangalore South Candidate JR Lobo at a function held at Mangaladevi on April 14, Sunday.

AICC Election Observor and Kerala MP PT Thomas welcomed the new entrants by handing over the party flag.

Those who joined the party including Vishwanath Shetty, Sadanand Kotian, Harish K, Arun Kumar from Padil and Mangaladevi area. Several BJP workers from Attavara and Bolar also joined the party.

Among the JD(S) workers who joined include Ramananda Poojari, Madhava Shetty and Devaraya Kamath.

Several Congress leaders including AICC Member PV Mohan, Mangalore North Block Congress President Ashraf, District Mahila congress President Mamatha Gatti, South Bloc Congress President Nagendra Kumar, South Block Women’s Wing President Namitha Rao, KM Masood, former MLC were present
