Mangalore, February 12: Mangalore Central Committee organised a massive protest on Friday, February 11, seeking the instant release of a number of Muslim youths arrested in connection with Malegoan and Mecca Masjid blast.

The ptotest rally was taken out from near Kudroli Jodu Masidi before the protest. In the protest, they demanded the central government to release the innocent Muslim youths. They further said that the police arrested Muslim Youths under false case and located in various Jail across the country. Muslim youth are unnecessarily being harassed under the pretext of cracking down on Islamic terrorism, they said.


Protesters also opposed the injustice report of the Justice Somashekara Commission on Church attack as  well as the attacks on Christian community. They urged the ruling government to order a CBI probe on church attacks.


People’s Union of Civil Liberties state president PB D’sa, activist Suresh Bakrabailu, Shanthi Prakashana Manager Mohammed Kunhi, Mangalore Central Committee president Ali Hasan, JDS corporator Azeez Kudroli were present at the protest.
