Mangalore : Billawa Mahila Sangha conducts variety contests

Mangalore, April 21, 2013: The Billawa Mahila Sangha which is celebrating its decennial organised a variety of competitions at Town Hall here on April 21, Sunday. Sharada S Karkera, President of Billawa Jagrithi Balaga, Mumbai, inaugurated the programme.

 

Speaking on the occasion, she  emphasized the need for women to empower  themselves. She also stressed the need to provide good opportunities for women to explore and exhibit their talents. Women’s empowerment can change the world, she added.

Sumalatha Suvarna,  President of Billawa Mahila Sangha, Kudroli, presided over the function.Shakila Raj, Cultural Secretary, Vijaya Bangera, President of the women’s wing of  Billawa Seva Sangha, Malpe, Prema, President of  Billava Samaja Seva Sangha, Belthangady, Sudha A Poojari,  President Bhramashree Narayanguru Samaja Seva Sangha, Kota, and others were present on the occasion.

A variety of cultural programmes and competitions were held.
