Mangalore: 3 Deacons ordained to priesthood

Mangalore, April 11, 2013: Mangalore Diocese Bishop Rev. Fr Aloysius Paul D’Souza ordained three deacons as Priests at the ordination ceremony held at Our Lady of Rosario Church here on April 10, Wednesday.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In his homily, the Bishop   urged devotees to pray so that the community finds more young men and women to serve the Lord and carry on his mission in the Church.

The newly ordained priests are Fr Deepak D’Sa from Paneer parish, Fr Rohan Lobo, from Beltangady parish, and Fr Amith Rodrigues from Hospet parish.

They    concelebrated the Holy Eucharist with the Bishop. Fr Vijay Machado, Designate Director of Mangala Jyothi, diocesan Biblical and Catechetical Centre animated the Liturgy.

At a felicitation programme held later on, Fr Henry  Sequeira, Chancellor of the Diocese introduced the newly ordained priests.

Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu, Vicar General of the Diocese and Fr Joseph Martis, Rector of St Joseph’s Seminary, Jeppu were present on the dais.

Over 125 nuns, religious brothers and sisters were present.Hundreds of devotees including the near and dear ones of the newly ordained priests also attended the function.
