Man found dead inside tube pipe kept on roadside

Bantwal, July 17, 2015 :  The body of a  40 year old man from Bantwal Kasba village has been found inside a tube pipe which  on the roadside near the Lions Seva Mandir at BC Road on July 17, Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Gopalkrishna  who  resided in Manniguttu. It has been gathered that he was mentally  ill and used to spend night elsewhere instead of returning home.  Sources said he  had gone missing at least three times in the past and was  traced after a search by his family members.

The suspicion is that Gopalkrishna who as usual had left home  a couple of days ago might  had slept inside the tube pipe and died there itself.

The body was noticed  by some locals who had come to the spot to discard wastes.  The police were immediately informed.  The body has been handed over to the family after completing the formalities.

A case has been registered in Bantwal town police station.

The huge pipes  were kept on the roadside towards implementation of the TMC’s integrated drinking water project.
