The duo said in a release that the panchayat reserved the amount with the approval of all its members in the interest of the country and personnel of Indian armed forces. The panchayat reserved the fund taking stock of escalating tension on the India-Pakistan border.

They said that members of the panchayat have been working keeping the national interests in mind along with taking up development programmes for people.

The panchayat is proud that India is successfully countering the attacks of terrorists backed by Pakistan and India has destroyed the nine bases of terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir.

It is the duty of the panchayat to support the Indian armed forces in all ways in case a war breaks out.

When the matter was discussed with Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty he said that the initiative taken by the panchayat should become a role model for other panchayats. It should prompt other panchayats to follow suit, the president and vice-president said.
