MG Hegde spills the beans; says JD(S) in DK was just a ‘money making business’

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Mar 26, 2013: MG Hegde, who recently quit the JD(S) has alleged that a cold war was waging within the JD(S) ever since he joined the party.

Speaking at the press meet held at Hotel Woodland meeting hall on Mar 26, Monday, he said that he and other recently joined members of JD(S) including Nagaraj Shetty had never approached the party seeking to include them, but it was JD(S) Chief H D Kumaraswamy who had invited them personally with a view to build a strong party.

He also said that on 24-4-2011, HDK himself had appointed him as the state secretary. “But after joining, I realized that it was actually not a party, but a money making business run by M B Sadashiv, President of the District JD(S). His initials in the name stands for Money and Business,” Hegde  alleged.

“M B Sadashiv along with Amarnath Shetty and Mohammed Kunhi  never allowed anyone  other than themselves to share the dais during Deve Gowda and HDK’s visit to city,” he further alleged and said  the district chief  had opposed every member’s entry into the party. The three opposed Nagaraj Shetty just because they feared his presence in the party would sideline them, Hegde said.

He further said that the mental torture and the internal conflict of the party had made the members to quit the party enmasse. “ MB Sadashiv never wanted his  party candidates to win, but prepared  a dummy candidates’ list  just to collect money from the party state president,” Hegde made another serious allegation.

“The ruling members of the party always left us with an insecure feeling by stopping the movement initiated  by us against Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat and  Sangh Parivar, he further said.
The situation in the party worsened when hardworking leaders like district general secretary Shashiraj Shetty and district minorities cell chief D M Aslam were suspended from the party, he pointed out and said  he along with Nagaraj Shetty and others resigned enmasse as the party chief HDK  failed to consider their demands.

The part has lost 10 senior  leaders first and 50 others later and many more will opt out in the coming days, he predicted.

Those leaders who have tendered their resignation to JD(S) are B Nagaraj Shetty, state vice-president, M G Hegde, state secretary, Shaukath Ali, former Konaje gram panchayat president, Dr Uday Kumar, Ranjith Malli, Pradeep Karkera, Sudarshan Bantwal, Sumathi K Shetty, Sunil Poojary, Ravi Shankar, Harish Shetty, P B Basheer, Rajeev Poojary, Rajesh Shetty, Anoop Rai, Lokesh Bhandary, Premdas, MP Narayan, Abdul Suratkal, Praveen Poojary, Sharmith Jain, Sharath, Yashwanth Ashraf Ullal and Abdul Khader.
